Downton Abbey Star Speaks Out on Gaza Genocide

Downton Abbey star, Hugh Bonneville, known for playing leading roll Lord Grantham in the hit series, speaks out about Gaza during an ITV news interview on the red carpet premier of Downton Abbey: The final Chapter movie.

On 5th September 2025, stars from the upcoming final Downton Abbey movie, took to the red carpet in London to celebrate the launch of the movie. Actor, Hugh Bonneville, also known for his leading roles in Paddington, Viceroy's House, Breathe, and I Came By, spoke out about the genocide in Gaza during an interview.

Whilst speaking to ITV News, Bonneville said, “Hello, good evening. Before I talk about the fluff and loveliness of our wonderful film, what’s about to happen in Gaza City is indefensible. The international community must do more to bring it to an end.

When Bonneville spoke of Gaza, the news presenters face dropped, with her expressing shock and concern at him speaking out.

Bonneville joins a number of actors who have spoken out about the genocide in Gaza, including Khalid Abdalla, Mark Ruffalo and Florence Pugh.
